Sure, you can just rev and rev your bike until you float the valves or hit the rev limiter, but that’s hardly a practice we recommend. On the other hand, hardly any metric cruiser these days comes with a tach, so how do you know where the redline is?
Simple: just fit up a Cobra tach. The 8000 rpm range is more than enough for a V-twin cruiser. Then we fit it into a polished and chromed billet aluminum bracket that fits right in with your factory instruments. Installation is about as simple as changing a light bulb—definitely something you can do yourself in an hour or so. And it’s available for several Harley models, too.
